IMPACT U Series Workshop – Sexual Harassment and Dating Violence

Ryerson’s Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Services is hosting a session discussing the prevalence of sexual harassment and violence in the dating world. Join Melissa Showler of Ryerson Security and Emergency Services to learn about a number of topics including: who is targeted; the impact socialization and performance of gender roles, and warning signs of dating violence. Learn the steps you can take if experience harassment or violence, as well as what Ryerson Security and Toronto Police can do to help, plus why people may not report abuse.

Africa, Caribbean and South America Tea House

The International Tea House is an event that builds links between the international community on campus and the Canadian Ryerson community, spreading awareness about diversity and promoting cross-cultural understanding. The International Tea House is a monthly event run by International Student Services Peer Supporters. Treats are served, music is played, and participants enjoy cultural performances.

BUS 100 – Content Management Systems

The good folks over here at RU Student Life are hosting a BUS 100 Approved event for you to learn about various digital content production and management systems. Learn valuable tips and tricks about WordPress, Tumblr, Facebook, SquareSpace as well as choosing and securing domain names and launching websites. You’ll walk away being able to create your own website.

Ryerson’s Next Top Speaker Auditions

Ryerson Toastmasters’ annual public speaking competition is back! Ryerson’s Next Top Speaker is a university wide student speaking competition that crowns Ryerson’s best public speaker. It’s always an amazing event that brings together Ryerson students, faculty, community members and Toastmasters from around Toronto to witness Ryerson’s best speakers. This year’s event is begin held on March 20th and our first round of auditions is happening on November 26th!
