I don’t want to jump the gun with this post, but it seems as though the worst is behind us! We made it through another horrifically cold Toronto winter. Finally, the sun is shining, the pigeons are back and flying a little too close to the ground, and the snow is melting into beautiful brown puddles: Ah, spring in Toronto, there’s nothing quite like it! All joking aside, here in the city we have lots to look forward to as the weather gets warmer.
Markets
After a long Winter of eating all the comfort foods your freezer had to offer, refuel your body by checking out your Local Farmers Markets for all the freshest seasonal foods Spring has to offer.
While you’re at it, stop by some of the gorgeous flower markets springing up throughout the city! This season a new outdoor flower market will be taking over 99 Sudbury on the second Saturday of every month, from May through September.
Spring Blossoms
If beautiful views are what you’re after, the blooming Cherry Blossom trees in High Park are a gold mine! Or, avoid the crowds and head over to the South side of Centre Island where 30 Cherry Blossom trees were recently planted.
While you’re already at the Islands, you may as well take in the beautiful views; don’t forget to hashtag your photos with #RUdaysofSpring to show us what your Springtime looks and feels like!
Food and Drink
Every Torontonian knows that we take our Patios very seriously. Grab your sunglasses and forget about your final exams by grabbing a cool drink on any of these patios around campus.
Need some food to calm your caffeine buzz? Book a ticket for the Kensington food crawl and taste all the delicious foods Toronto’s brightest neighbourhood has to offer.
Film Festivals
Celebrate and support local, and international documentary film makers at Hot Docs this season. Buy your tickets soon, you won’t want to miss it! Bonus: every daytime screening is free to students, you just need your student ID and you’re good to go! Or, if documentaries aren’t your thing, be sure to check out some of the other film festivals running through out the city:

Start Fresh
Last but not least, rid yourself of any reminders of Winter by doing some Spring Cleaning. Dust off your dressers, and clear out your closets to make room for a new Spring wardrobe. Looking to get rid of some stuff permanently? Donate your clothes to these local charity shops.
