Soak Up The Final Days of Warmth in Toronto

This time of year is the perfect in-between weather. You don’t have to worry about wearing a huge coat and bundling up to go outside, but you also don’t have to worry about sweating buckets because of the heat. It’s the best time to go out, and enjoy the warmth while it lasts, before the cold season hits! Plus, once it gets cold, you’re going to wish for warmer weather so you can actually do things outside.

Get Out Of The Gym

Don’t go to the gym, let the gym come to you. As soon as you leave the front door, the area around you is your playground. Or, rather than going inside the RAC, stay above in the Quad! Build muscle and burn calories with these outdoor workout routines. Take advantage of that and save the RAC or the MAC for the colder months.

Be Productive in the Quad

The SLC is always there for you, but the warmth and Fall beauty of the Kerr Quad is only here a couple months out of the year. Soak up the sun, enjoy the view and get your studies done during your free time in between classes in the Quad. Prefer sitting in a chair with a desk? The outdoor spots and seats on Gould are perfect. And, can we just talk about those swinging seats on Lake Devo? Totally into it.

That commute from Union to Dundas…

Let’s be real, you almost always come up with an excuse to take the TTC from Union station to Dundas instead of walking. “I won’t make it to class in time!” or “I’m way to exhausted for that 20 minute walk to campus.” Save extra time, and a couple bucks that adds up in the end, for that commute and take a stroll a few blocks north to campus instead! The weather is warm and you should enjoy the fresh city air while it lasts.

Get Involved in Toronto Life

In a city as big and adventurous as Toronto, and with the convenience of our campus being in the heart of the city, there is always something to do, especially while the weather is warm. And don’t worry about the cost! There are tons of things to do that don’t always require you to spend money or buy a ticket like the Alumni Weekend on Gould on October 3rd. You can always just take a stroll around the city and visit places you’ve always wanted to go to during your free time. For a list of all the updated Toronto events around campus, click here!

As tempting as it is to stay in with cool A/C, keep in mind that you’ll be inside a whole lot more when the temperatures fall below 0 degrees.
