RU Abroad: Going on a semester abroad? Share your story!

We want you to tell your international story!

What?

We’re looking for 3 students to share their experience on international exchange or a semester abroad in a series of blog posts on RU Student Life. Attending a new school in another country is an incredible experience, and we want to see what this looks like for you, wherever you are headed.

Maybe you picked a school that has courses you’ve never even heard of, or one that’s in a metropolis city you can’t wait to explore. Maybe you chose a country you fell in love with years ago, or maybe a country whose native language you want to learn. Maybe it will be your first time going overseas, and you’re eagerly waiting to fill your passport with stamps. Studying abroad involves not only transitioning into a new school but an entirely different environment. We all have a story. We want to hear yours.

How?

We’d like a minimum of 1 blog every couple weeks including at least 2 multimedia components including, but not limited to:

  • Text  (written blog)
  • Video (V-Logs, Instagram video, YouTube, Vine, etc.)
  • Pictures (Instagram pics, DSLR, etc)
  • Social (Tweets, Facebook Posts, etc.)
  • Audio (Music, Clips, etc)

When events happen in your student life that you wish to share, from trying new food to exploring an unbelievable library, we’d love you to update in real time as well, using social media like Twitter and Instagram.

Why?

One of the qualities that makes Ryerson special is the diversity in people we attract here. Everyone has their own unique story and perspective. We all get here different ways, but the important thing is that we all get here. Now that you’re here, what made you want a little bit more out of your experience? Moving and studying internationally opens your eyes in all sorts of new directions. We want to give 3 different students the chance to tell those stories of what it’s like to spend a semester out of your comfort zone, miles away from Ryerson.

What next?

If you think you’d be interested in being one of these students, send us a 30second video telling us why you’re excited to come to Ryerson. That’s it!
