Position Description
The successful candidate will spend their summer assisting with the creative production of graphic assets and illustrations for the Office of Sexual Violence Support and Education. They must be creative, artistic, and comfortable with Web 2.0 technologies and experienced with design. This person will play a pivotal role in designing and creating Consent Comes First marketing collateral including social media graphics, posters, memes, and survivors’ resources, in both online and print mediums. The incumbent must be highly creative, self-motivated, and capable of functioning independently as well as in a team. It is necessary for the incoming Designer/Illustrator to possess strong organizational, research, and communication skills, a solid understanding of Ryerson University, and they must also understand the impact of sexual violence within and outside of the Ryerson community. The candidate must be willing to commit their efforts to the support of survivors of sexual violence at Ryerson University and the prevention of sexual violence on and off campus from a survivor-focused, anti-oppressive framework.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Coordinator of Ryerson’s Office of Sexual Violence Support and Education to ensure the production of creative and dynamic art and marketing communications. Their primary role will be the design of marketing collateral including social media graphics, posters, memes, and survivors’ resources. This includes:
– Assist with the creation of a vibrant, interactive, online and print presence for the OSVSE and its #ConsentComesFirst brand.
– Designs graphics and marketing collateral for OSVSE, including but not limited to posters, flyers, memes, postcards, brochures & banners.
– Design of digital marketing material for OSVSE to post via its social media channels; including but not limited to platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Tumblr.
– Researching resources relevant to the ConsentComesFirst brand goals and sharing them via social media and design assets.
– Pitching creative ideas to pursue.
– Other duties as assigned.

-Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
