Great Find: BBC Predicts the Future

Do you ever wonder what the future holds? Of course you do. I think everyone is curious about the future None of my kid predictions seem very likely however. Where the heck is my flying car and hover board?!? Thanks a lot Back to the Future.

While I’ve never seen Marty McFly in the DeLorean motoring up the Gardiner Expressway, the kid in me still can’t rule out the possibility of a time machine. Until that happens, the only way we get to see the future is through consulting smart thinkers like scientists and other such clever people.

Lucky for us, the BBC recently created a list of predictions made by world renowned scientists, journalists, politicians and the like. There is a sweet infographic that covers the next 150 years which also includes the odds of such predictions becoming a reality.

Check out the infographic below (click to enlarge):

These are pretty messed up. In the next four to five years it suggests that robots will be used for agricultural tasks on farms and that people will be able to touch one another through their phones. Take note class of 2016.

In just 15 years, should we choose to accept it, we can look forward to uploading contents of our brain to a computer (say what?) and maybe even tracking devices being implanted into us…um yay?

The final prediction is that humans will be able to live to be 150. I don’t even know how to deal with this information.

What do you all think?
