Transitioning to Ryerson reminded me of when Dorothy ended up in Oz. Confused, overwhelmed, scared. And yet, curious, excited, and eager. I was super bummed that O-week was a no-go for me, so I wanted my first week to go off without a hitch. Although I got lost a few times, I did get to meet a bunch of new people and learn a lot of different lessons in and out of the lecture hall.
My first week summed up was pretty much this: “Where am I?” “Do you know where the Atrium is?” “Um…” “Uh…” “This theatre seat is so comfy!” “DRAKE” “DRAKE” “DRAKE”
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve been able to take part-in already. I can’t wait to see what these next 4 years look like.
Things I’m excited for:
- Getting to know Ryerson and all it has to offer.
- Working with the talented and creative-minded people at RU Student Life and the Creative Unit.
- Continuing my Ryerson journey as positively as my first week.
Playlist I’m currently listening to: “0 to 100: The Reign of Drizzy Drake” on Songza for obvious reasons.
Shoutout to everyone who’s watched my videos, read my blogs and kept up to date with my Ryerson experience so far! It was awesome to have friends and Ryerson students talk to me about the #RoadToRyerson campaign. I’m glad I could share a little bit with my adventure with you all 🙂
Til next time,
Jillian
