Fundraising Efforts for the Philippines

As the Philippines continues to feel the effects of Typhoon Yolanda, many groups around Ryerson have rallied together, raising funds to help those affected. This week is Filipino Awareness at Ryerson Week, giving us a full docket of awesome events, hosted by our good friends at the Filipino Canadian Association of Ryerson  (FCAR) in conjunction with various groups around campus. Check them out and have some fun:

Raffle
From November 22-28, purchase tickets at the Tri-Mentoring office for a chance to win an Ipod nano and a Student Community Life prize basket, a $100 campus store gift card, scarves, t-shirts and more! Tickets are one for $2 or three for $5. The winners will be announced at the Talent Show on Thursday.

Filipino Food Sale
On Tuesday, November 26 from 11-2, purchase a plate of Filipino food in the SCC lobby! Plates will be sold for a minimum donation of $4. Check out the Facebook event for more info.

Karaoke Night
Show off your singing pipes at Bar+ on Wednesday, November 27 as FCAR hosts a karaoke night! $5 per student – find out more on Facebook.

Talent Show
Looking for some entertainment? FCAR is closing the week with a Talent Show, where you can watch members of Filipino Associations from around Toronto showcase their best skills. Donate $2 to get in. Wondering if there’s a Facebook event? You betcha.
